Public log
Corrections
When a card fact is wrong or mislabeled, we fix it in public. Entries are dated. Race scores are editorial; course and Gate numbers still have to match what organizers publish. or stay blank.
This list started with defects flagged in an outside systems review on 2026-09-05. More entries will land here when we catch ourselves again.
Hardrock lottery wording
Race card: Hardrock 100
What was wrong. Gate read like a loose pair: applicants plus a count that could be heard as field size rather than the RD’s lottery-selected number. Rounded applicant copy needed to stay marked as approximate.
What we did. Kept the pair only after checking the RD lottery page. Gate now follows RD wording: ~3,000 applicants and 147 lottery picks for the dated draw, with the ~ on applicants. We did not invent a different applicants or picks count.
Hardrock elevation omit label
Race card: Hardrock 100
What was wrong. The elevation panel sounded like the race director had not published climb at all. Vertical on the Course sheet was already published; what we lacked was usable elevation samples in the official GPX we could retrieve.
What we did. Rewrote the omit copy: Course Vertical stays; we still do not draw a profile line without elevation-bearing points in file. That is a GPX / retrieval limit, not “RD unpublished Vertical.”
Operator notes off public Weekend
Race cards: Hardrock 100 · Western States 100
What was wrong. Weekend blocks on flagship cards could surface internal agent instructions (split-grid / Gate-jump reminders) meant for editors, not readers.
What we did. Public Weekend now renders handbook facts and links only. Operator notes are not shown on the card. Hardrock and Western States were the live examples we cleared.
Western States entry fee label
Race card: Western States 100
What was wrong. Gate Entry fee said bare “Unpublished,” which readers can hear as “we did not look.” WSER’s entry-process page listed the fee as $TBD.
What we did. Replaced the bare label with a dated one: not published by WSER as of 2026-09-05 ($TBD on the entry-process page). Still no invented dollar amount.
Rubric and independence notes live on Methodology. If you spot a number that still does not match an official page, the fix belongs in the race file. and then here.
