HURT is the American 100 that makes people who talk about 'technical' on a Colorado jeep road look uninformed. The Book of Hurt is public: five identical 20-mile loops connecting Mānoa, Makiki, and Nuʻuanu, about 24,500 feet of gain on trails that started as pig paths and were made into people trail by Nā Ala Hele. Demand is 5 because the surface, the humidity, the repetition, and the night stack. Altitude is a 1. That is not a softness. That is honesty. The air is thick. The roots are the altitude. A 5/5 with an altitude 1 is the card saying Hawaii is not Colorado, and that Colorado is not the only way to be a destination 100.
Worth is 5 because this course does not exist in the Lower 48. You fly to Honolulu and you run in rainforest above the city. The lottery is real. The document is unusually specific. Organization confidence is high: hurt100.com publishes like it expects to be read in the dark. This is a destination 5, not a regional curiosity. Regional is Vermont. This is not Vermont.
The next edition is January 16, 2027. If you wanted a tropical island 100 that is also a circus, this is not Réunion and it is not a World Series final. It is a Honolulu rainforest loop with a cult. If you cannot get in, that is the lottery, not a verdict on the mountain. If you can, go. There is no mainland substitute, and we are not going to pretend Western States technicality is in the same sentence.
