Vermont 100 is a genuine American 100, and it is not a mountain destination. That is the regional score, not an insult. The published product is 450 runners, 70 horses, about 17,000 feet of climbing, 30 hours, Silver Hill Meadow, dirt roads and forested trails and a concurrent endurance horse race, the last 100 miler that still does that. Demand is 3 because 100 miles of unrelenting rollers in July humidity is a real day, and because the technicality is not rock. Altitude is a 1. Grand Slam history is a 4 on prestige. History is not topography. A famous 100 can still be the wrong flight.

Worth is 3, regional. If you live in the Northeast, this is a strong July and a Grand Slam checkbox with a soul. If you are choosing a plane ticket, it is not the default. The Green Mountains from a dirt road are pretty. They are not the San Juans, not the North Shore's rock, not a rainforest loop above Honolulu.
